Basic Science (ACMT 1105)

Description:  This course reviews the principles of mathematical functions. You will learn signed numbers, roots, exponents, simple equation, geometry and their applications to aviation maintenance. In addition, you will learn the understanding of energy, matter, principles of simple machines, sound, and fluids, heat dynamics and how these relationships apply to aircraft maintenance. Must be taken A-F.

Basic D. C. Electricity (ACMT 1400)

Description:  This course covers the basics of D.C. circuits, Ohm's Law, and multi-meters and their use. You will learn to maintain, install, and remove both the lead-acid and ni-cad batteries used in current aircraft. Must be taken A-F.

Sheet Metal Structures (ACMT 1500)

Description:  This course covers basic sheet metal structures and their repair. You will learn to use fasteners and tools to make repairs caused by stresses and loads. Must be taken A-F.

Nonmetallic Structures (ACMT 1700)

Description:  You will take a hands-on approach in this course, working with a variety of nonmetallic materials for aircraft painting and finishing. You will learn about a variety of aircraft applications, including plastic, fiberglass, honeycomb and composite constructions. Must be taken A-F.

Description:  This course covers the theory, operation, minor maintenance, and inspection of aircraft communication and navigational systems with emphasis on installation and inspection of radios and antennas. You will learn the basics of A.C. electricity, A.C. meters and measurements, solid-state devices, capacitors, inductors, transformers, and A.C. circuits. Must be taken A-F.
