Environmental Systems (ACMT 2130)

Description: This course covers the theory and maintenance of aircraft interior and exterior environmental systems, including pressurization, air conditioning, heaters, supplemental oxygen systems, ice prevention and rain removal systems. Must be taken A-F.

Topical Outline:
1. Troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of aircraft environmental systems and components
2. Principles of operation and controlling environmental systems
3. Principles of controlling aircraft pressurization
4. Inspection and servicing an aircraft oxygen system
5. Operating principles of various aircraft anti-icing systems

Learning Outcomes:
1. Explain the principles of controlling aircraft pressurization
2. Explain the principles of operation and controlling environmental systems
3. Inspect, check, troubleshoot, service and repair oxygen systems
4. Inspect, check, service, troubleshoot and repair an aircraft ice and rain control system
5. Inspect, check, service, troubleshoot and repair an aircraft combustion heater

Prerequisites:  ACMT 1000, ACMT 1100, ACMT 1200, ACMT 1300 and ACMT 1400 or Admission to the Program with Course Equivalencies from another Approved FAR 147 School or Admission to the Program through FAA Approval
