Electrical Systems & Troubleshooting (ACMT 2110)

Description: This course covers electrical systems, which generate, distribute and utilize electricity in various aircraft applications. You also learn the basic troubleshooting of electrical circuits and electrical systems as found on aircraft. Must be taken A-F.

Topical Outline:
1. Repair and inspection of aircraft electrical system components
2. Installation, checking and servicing airframe electrical wiring, controls, switches, indicators and protective devices
3. Inspections, checking, troubleshooting, service and repair of alternating and direct current electrical systems
4. Repair and inspection of engine electrical system components
5. Installation, checking and servicing engine electrical wiring, controls, switches, indicators and protective devices

Learning Outcomes:
1. Determine correct switch nominal ratings and wiring sizes
2. Determine correct wire connections between voltage regulator and generator or alternator
3. Check, inspect, and repair a D.C. generator or alternator electrical system
4. Replace terminals on electrical cables
5. Determine correct fuse and switch ratings

Prerequisites:  ACMT 1000, ACMT 1100, ACMT 1200, ACMT 1300 and ACMT 1400 or Admission to the Program with Course Equivalencies from another Approved FAR 147 School or Admission to the Program through FAA Approval
