Description: This course covers the theory, operation, minor maintenance, and inspection of aircraft communication and navigational systems with emphasis on installation and inspection of radios and antennas. You will learn the basics of A.C. electricity, A.C. meters and measurements, solid-state devices, capacitors, inductors, transformers, and A.C. circuits. Must be taken A-F.

4. Alternating current terminology
5. Auto-pilot systems and components
6. Antennas

Learning Outcomes:
1. Calculate values for various AC circuits
2. Wire series and parallel resistance, capacitive and inductive AC circuits
3. Define alternating current terms and trace AC circuit diagrams
4. Identify various communication and navigation antennas
5. Inspect an Emergency Locator Transmitter
6. Explain the operating principles of autopilot systems and components

Prerequisites:  ACMT 1000, ACMT 1100, ACMT 1200, ACMT 1300 and ACMT 1400 or Admission to the Program with Course Equivalencies from another Approved FAR 147 School or Admission to the Program through FAA Approval
