Instrument Systems (ACMT 2160)

Description: This course covers the theory, operation, minor maintenance, and inspection of aircraft instruments, with emphasis on installation and inspection. Must be taken A-F.

Topical Outline:
1. Operating principles of temperature indicating instruments
2. Operating principles of pressure indicating instruments
3. Operation and use of synchronous motors
4. Tachometer and engine E.P.R. operation

Learning Outcomes:
1. Test pilot and static systems for leakage
2. Determine the operational integrity of a thermocouple type instrument system
3. Determine the operational integrity of an electric temperature indicating system
4. Determine the operational integrity of a pressure-type indicating system

Prerequisites:  ACMT 1000, ACMT 1100, ACMT 1200, ACMT 1300 and ACMT 1400 or Admission to the Program with Course Equivalencies from another Approved FAR 147 School or Admission to the Program through FAA Approval
