Description: This course reviews the principles of mathematical functions. You will learn signed numbers, roots, exponents, simple equation, geometry and their applications to aviation maintenance. In addition, you will learn the understanding of energy, matter, principles of simple machines, sound, and fluids, heat dynamics and how these relationships apply to aircraft maintenance. Must be taken A-F.

5. Energy, matter, principles of simple machines, sounds and fluids, heat dynamics and how these relationships apply to aircraft maintenance

Learning Outcomes:
1. Mathematics: Extract roots and raise numbers to a given power
2. Mathematics: Determine areas and volumes of various geometrical shapes.
3. Mathematics: Solve ratio, proportion and percentage problems.
4. Mathematics: Perform algebraic operations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of positive and negative numbers.
5. Basic Physics: Use and understand the principles of simple machines; sound fluid and heat dynamics; basic aerodynamics, aircraft structures, and theory of flight.

Prerequisites:  Admission to the Aircraft Maintenance Technician Program
