Visualization Theory (AVRR 2000)

Total Credits:  3   Lecture Credits:  2   Lab Credits:  1  
Description:  This course demonstrates the use of advanced visualization in creating realistic architectural renderings. You will explore basic photographic concepts and techniques as you develop computer rendered environments. You will analyze and critique rendered images. You will explore a variety of software programs to understand the mathematical requirements behind creating compelling images. This includes color theory, lighting theory, and composition theory. You must be proficient in REVIT and SketchUp in order to take this course. This is the recommended first course to take in the AVRR program.
Prerequisites:  Successful Completion of a 2 Credit Course in REVIT with a B or Better or Having 500 Hours Actively Using Revit in a Work Environment
Co-requisites:  It is highly recommended that students either complete AVRR 2000 before taking AVRR 2010 of take AVRR 2000 concurrently with AVRR 2010.

Architectural Computer Rendering (AVRR 2010)

Total Credits:  3   Lecture Credits:  1   Lab Credits:  2  
Description:  This course introduces the use of a variety of computer software programs to create architectural renderings and animations. You will use a given 3D computer model to explore best practices to create realistic lighting, strong composition, textures and reflections. This course will highlight the use of renderings for marketing purposes, design reviews and constructability. You must be proficient in REVIT and SketchUp in order to take this course.
Prerequisites:  Successful Completion of a 2 Credit Course in REVIT with a B or Better or Having 500 Hours Actively Using Revit in a Work Environment
Co-requisites:  AVRR 2000. It is highly recommended that students register for AVRR 2000 either before or concurrently with AVRR 2010.

Image Editing and Optimization (AVRR 2020)

Total Credits:  2   Lecture Credits:  1   Lab Credits:  1  
Description:  This course explores editing and optimizing 3D rendered images for final presentation. You will employ techniques to add textures and materials to create high quality images. Students will construct realistic views by adding people, landscaping and other entourage to rendered environments. Exporting to standard image formats will be discussed and students will import images into a post processing software for editing. You must be proficient in REVIT and SketchUp in order to take this course.
Prerequisites:  Successful Completion of a 2 Credit Course in REVIT with a B or Better or Having 500 Hours Actively Using Revit in a Work Environment
Co-requisites:  AVRR 2000. It is highly recommended that students either complete AVRR 2000 before taking AVRR 2020 or register for AVRR 2000 concurrently with AVRR 2020.

Virtual Reality Integration (AVRR 2030)

Total Credits:  3   Lecture Credits:  1   Lab Credits:  2  
Description:  This course explores the use of virtual reality and its broad opportunities within the design and construction industries. You will generate an interactive virtual reality experience and deliver it in a variety of formats. You will organize and set up a client-ready presentation using virtual reality hardware including headsets, tablets, phones and laptops. You must be proficient in REVIT and SketchUp in order to take this course. This course must be taken A-F.
Prerequisites:  Successful Completion of a 2 Credit Course in REVIT with a B or Better or Having 500 Hours Actively Using Revit in a Work Environment
Co-requisites:  AVRR 2040. It is highly recommended that students take AVRR 2030 concurrently with AVRR 2040.

Animation and Game Level Creation for VR (AVRR 2040)

Total Credits:  2   Lecture Credits:  1   Lab Credits:  1  
Description:  This course introduces the opportunities and techniques associated with higher level video and gaming software specific to the design and construction industry. You will create virtual environments and introduce objects and elements that can be manipulated by the user. Development of materials and textures will be explored. This course must be taken A-F.

Discipline Coordination (AVRR 2050)

Description:  This course demonstrates the techniques used to get the most efficient and effective use from virtual reality as a design, coordination and marketing tool. You will practice with tools designed to foster collaboration and improve communication in the industry. This course must be taken A-F.
Prerequisites:  Successful Completion of a 2 Credit Course in REVIT with a B or Better or Having 500 Hours Actively Using Revit in a Work Environment
