BIOL 2224 Anatomy with a grade of ‘B’ or higher and one of the following:
1.
ENGL 1110 or
ENGA 1110 or
ENGL 1111 (or the exact transfer equivalent of one of those courses) with a grade of ‘B’ or higher.
2. Official Advanced Placement transcripts showing English writing with a score of 3 or higher prior to submitting the Nursing program application.

Description:
The Minneapolis College Nursing program educates future professional nurses who practice compassionate, innovative, holistic, and culturally congruent care to all people in the advancement of the profession of nursing. Completion of the Associate of Science in nursing degree at Minneapolis College prepares you to take the National Council Licensure Examination to become a registered nurse, and to continue your nursing education at any baccalaureate completion program.

General Education Courses (30 Credits):
To complete the A.S. degree in Nursing, students are required to successfully complete 30 credits of General Education coursework selected from at least six of the 10 MnTC Goal Areas. A minimum of three credits must be completed from Goal Area 1, and a minimum of three credits from Goal Areas 7, 8, 9 or 10.
The specific courses that are required for the A.S. degree are a College English Composition course, BIOL 2224, BIOL 2227 and BIOL 2228, BIOL 2229, BIOL 2235, and PSYC 2240. This will satisfy 21 of the 30 required credits. The nursing program curriculum as written includes Goal Areas 1, 3, 5 and 9.
All students pursuing this award should work closely with their advisor to ensure proper selection of required program courses, if applicable program electives, required Minnesota Transfer Curriculum courses, and MnTC electives. You are expected to meet with your advisor on a regular basis to ensure courses are taken in an order that will lead to efficient and successful completion of the required coursework.
