Description: This course will introduce the student to pattern development and construction techniques used for knitwear and specialty fabrics. Must be taken A-F.

Topical Outline:
1. Fabric types
2. Needle and Thread types
3. Edge finishes
4. Pattern development
5. Knit garment

Learning Outcomes:
1. Identify knit fabric characteristics
2. Identify needle and thread types
3. Perform seam finish, ribbing, and binding samples.
4. Apply elastic to knit garment
5. Create pattern adjustments for knit garment
6. Construct final knit garment

Prerequisites:  APRL 1000, APRL 1025, APRL 1100, and APRL 1360
Co-requisites:  APRL 1400, APRL 2150, APRL 2350, and APRL 2750
