Description:
Math 0075 is an overview of the introductory and intermediate algebra topics necessary for
MATH 1110, College Algebra. You will learn how to simplify polynomial, radical, logarithmic and exponential expressions and how to solve polynomial, radical, logarithmic and exponential equations. You will also begin applying functional models based on the previous operations. This class is for students who plan to take
MATH 1110: College Algebra and not students who plan on taking
MATH 1119: Precalculus 1.
MATH 0075 will also prepare students for
MATH 1140: Introductory Statistics.
Topical Outline:
1. Order of operations with real numbers
2. Simplify or factor polynomial expressions and solve polynomial equations.
3. Simplify radical expressions and solve radical equations.
4. Simplify logarithmic expressions and solve logarithmic equations.
5. Simplify exponential expressions and solve exponential equations.
6. Begin to apply polynomial, radical, logarithmic and exponential functions.
