Medical Office Management (MEDS 2500)

Description: This course is designed to broaden your organizational, technical, personal, and leadership skills. You will also focus on making travel arrangements; planning meetings; writing medical office staff orientation presentation incorporating policy and procedure development; discussing fees and credit; and performing banking, billing and daily accounting. Must be taken A-F.

1. Front office professionalism and communications
2. Office safety and ergonomics
3. Time management
4. Medical record documentation and risk assessments
5. Teamwork, networking, and project planning

Learning Outcomes:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of management issues related to medical records, billing, and insurance
2. Understand management styles and responsibilities
3. Create orientation and training materials for medical reception
4. Identify medical office management responsibilities
5. Demonstrate an understanding of safety/health standards and healthcare regulatory bodies
6. Cover ethical, legal, and compliance issues
