Description:
In this course, you will learn to transcribe dictated medical records. You will key dictated medical reports while being introduced to body systems and medical procedures. You will also learn common scientific terms relevant to speech recognition technology. You will learn differences between front-end and back-end speech recognition technology. You will also learn about productivity and quality issues and implications of speech recognition technology in the future of the Medical Transcription/Editor/Scribe industries. Must be taken A-F.

1. Confidentiality of medical records
2. Transcribe medical dictation using correct capitalization, numbering, punctuation, abbreviations, symbols, and metric measurement rules
3. Use medical reference materials
4. History of speech editing
5. Front-end and back-end speech recognition technology
6. Text expansion products

1. Transcribe medical reports using correct capitalization, numbering, punctuation, abbreviation, symbols, and metric measurement rules
2. Use medical reference material effectively to transcribe and edit dictated material

4. Edit medical reports without changing the meaning of content dictated or the originator's style
