Advanced Shop Fabrication/Equipment (WELD 2900)

Description: This course builds on skills learned in WELD 1500. You will utilize computer-controlled equipment to fabricate parts to blueprint specifications. You will also learn plasma cutting, press brake programming and robotic welding. Must be taken A-F.

Topical Outline:
1. Review automated equipment safety
2. CNC plasma programming and part fabrication
3. CNC press brake tooling selection, setup, programming and part fabrication
4. Robotic programming and welding
5. Applications in fabrication with automated manufacturing equipment

Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand safety related to the use of automated manufacturing equipment
2. Program and setup CNC plasma cutting equipment
3. Program and setup CNC press brake equipment
4. Program and setup robotic welding system
5. Utilize automated manufacturing equipment to fabricate parts to blueprint specifications
6. Incorporate use of automated manufacturing equipment in design and fabrication of parts
