Advanced GMAW (WELD 2800)

Description: In this course, you will perform gas metal arc welding on a variety of materials. You will use GMAW to fabricate projects to blueprint specifications. You will also learn about welding economics. Must be taken A-F.

Topical Outline:
1. Weld on steel, stainless steel and aluminum
2. Weld with short circuit, spray and pulse spray transfers
3. Fabricate projects using sheet, plate, tube/pipe using GMAW to blueprint specifications
4. Welding economics

Learning Outcomes:
1. Demonstrate proper welding technique using GMAW on steel, stainless steel and aluminum
2. Evaluate and test GMAW welds to industry standards
3. Fabricate projects to blueprint specifications
4. Evaluate projects to blueprint specifications
5. Demonstrate setup and troubleshooting of GMAW power sources and equipment
6. Understand aspects of welding economics

Prerequisites:  WELD 1150, WELD 1300, and WELD 1350
