Topical Outline:
1. Pipe welding and related equipment safety
2. Pipe welding applications
3. Types of pipe, process/electrode selection and theory
4. Pipe schedule, joint design and fit-up
5. Pipe welding with SMAW on 6" SCH 40 in the 2-G, 5-G and 6-G positions
6. Evaluation and testing of pipe welds

Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand safety, applications and impact of pipe welding
2. Demonstrate proper technique in cutting, beveling and fitting-up pipe joints
3. Demonstrate proper welding technique with SMAW on 6" SCH 40 pipe in the 2-G, 5-G and 6-G positions
4. Inspect and test pipe welds to industry standards

Prerequisites:  WELD 1101 and WELD 1102
