Description: This course teaches the proper utilization of Oxy/Acetylene equipment and introduces you to brazing and cutting with compressed gasses. You will learn equipment safety and safe welding practices. Plasma arc cutting safety and applications will also be covered.

Topical Outline:
1. Theory and application of Oxy/Acetylene welding, brazing and cutting
2. Safety requirements for proper use of Oxy/Acetylene equipment
3. Safety requirements for proper use of Plasma Arc Cutting equipment
4. Brazing with Oxy/Acetylene torch in the flat, horizontal and vertical positions on various joint designs
5. Layout and fabricate various cutting projects using Oxy/Acetylene torch and Plasma Arc Cutting equipment

1. Comprehend theory and applications of Oxy/Acetylene welding, brazing and torch cutting
2. Understand specific safety requirements and potential hazards associated with the use of equipment

Prerequisites:  Placement into READ 0200 or ESOL 0052 or completion of READ 0100 or ESOL 0042
