Description: This course systematically examines a current issue (often a problem or target population) in the field of human services that is timely and important. You will explore a definition of the topic, historical background, current data and research on the topic, and possible solutions and action plans if a problem has been defined. This Human Services elective course is offered occasionally with varied issues as the focus. You may take this course only once, regardless of topic.

Prerequisites: 

Placement score into ENGL 1110 or completion of ENGL 0900 or ENGA 0900 or ESOL 0051. It is recommended that students complete HSER 1001 or take co-currently with HSER 1051 or with instructors permission.
