Description: This course focuses on further development of the concepts within the three domains of the individual, nursing and healthcare. You will learn about concepts within each domain including: acid-base, cellular regulation, oxygenation, perfusion, inflammation, mobility, sensory perception, sexuality, reproduction, stress/coping, grief/loss, mood/affect, behaviors, development, cognition, self, family, health-wellness-illness, communication, professional behaviors, caring interventions, managing care, safety, and advocacy. Upon completion, you should be able to provide safe nursing care incorporation the concepts identified within this course. Must be taken A-F.

1. 1. Examine the pathophysiology, prevalence and clinical course of individuals with specific alterations in health. Individual/Nursing Judgment
2. 2. Differentiate between the healthy individual and those individuals experiencing alterations in health. Individual/Nursing Judgment
3. 3. Detect changes within the internal and external environment of the individual with these alterations. Individual/Nursing Judgment

Prerequisites: 

Admission to the Professional Nursing program. NPRO 1000 or NPRO 1010; ENGL 1110 or ENGA 1110.
