Description: The course provides a comprehensive view of human development from conception to death. Important aspects of development changes, (biological, cognitive and psychosocial) are examined, as well as problems and issues salient to various developmental stages.

1. 1. Understand research methods used in the field of Developmental Psychology and evaluate research from methodological and ethical perspectives
2. 2. Identify and describe differences between psychological theories used in Developmental Psychology
3. 3. Apply psychological principles to explain his/her own behavior and others
4. 4. Define and examine alternative explanations and solutions to contemporary legal, social, and scientific issues such as school achievement, effective parenting, retirement satisfaction and dying with dignity
5. 5. Explain how physical, intellectual, social and personality development are entwined with each other
6. 6. Clarify his/her own views regarding the ethical issues across life and appreciate the different views of others by considering the legal, developmental, social, and scientific aspects of the issues

Prerequisites: 

PSYC 1110. *These prerequisites are only for non-Nursing program students. Nursing students should work with Nursing program admissions to determine if prerequisites are met.
