Description: This laboratory enhancement to the concepts presented in ASTR 1110. This course has an optional lab. Completion of both ASTR 1110 and ASTR 1115 are required to count toward MnTC Goal Area 3.

1. 1. Clearly document procedures, data and conclusions in the various laboratory exercises
2. 2. Illustrate, document and explain various astronomical phenomena, motions and sizes
3. 3. Recognize the various kinds of spectra, describe how to produce each and explain the mechanisms at the atomic level that produce each
4. 4. Explain the Doppler Effect and use it to measure speed
5. 5. Interpret data from graphs
6. 6. Convert data from one unit to another

Prerequisites: 

High School algebra or equivalent.
