British Literature 2 (ENLT 2252)

Description: This course covers selected English literature from the Romantic period through the present. You will come to understand these works in terms of historical, social and world contexts. You will also gain insight into British culture and how it is the result of ethnic and cultural influences within the British Isles, on the European continent, throughout the former British Empire, and in the world beyond.

1. A. To discuss and evaluate the achievements in English literature.
2. B. To analyze the interactions between cultures in the British Isles and between England, its empire, and the world as revealed in literature.
3. C. To know the topics, forms, and styles preferred during the various eras.
4. D. To compare the literary contributions of the various authors, cultural groups, and literary traditions.

Prerequisites: 

ENGL 1110 or ENGA 1110.
