Description: This course introduces the basic vocabulary for music terms, symbols, and elements needed for music reading and writing. You will learn the essentials of standard music notation, its relationship to the piano keyboard and to sound itself. In addition, you will develop skills that will help you with further musical study, including private study of voice or an instrument, music ensemble participation, and advanced work in music theory.
