Description: This course is an introduction to basic nursing concepts and skills at the level of the nursing assistant. Skills related to personal care, activity and exercise, nutrition, elimination, vital signs and measures, special needs, safe environment, organizational skills, and problem-solving will be taught in the classroom and clinical settings, Completion of this course and the four-credit Healthcare Core Curriculum prepares the student to take the national examination to be certified as a nursing assistant. Must be taken Pass/Fail.
