This course introduces the student to small business practices required for operating a successful freelance business. The topics can be utilized by anyone seeking to build a freelance business in apparel design, graphic and web design, photography, freelance writing, videography, or any other creative endeavor. The student will develop a complete business plan essential to any startup business. Topics include: sales strategies, practical business concepts, accounting, personal finances, business communications, and issues of copyright. Relevant social media and social networking are researched and analyzed as a part of the overall promotional and advertising strategy.
