Description:
This course continues with the advanced functions legal in Minnesota for a licensed dental assistant to perform. The course will focus on nutrition as it relates to oral health; oral hygiene instruction; mechanical polishing of the clinical crowns; application of fluoride; preclinical and clinical skills in the induction of nitrous oxide-oxygen inhalation analgesia and the application of pit-and-fissure sealants.

2. 2. Identify and provide proper oral hygiene techniques on patients
3. 3. Demonstrate mechanical polishing of clinical crowns

6. 6. Demonstrate the induction of a patient and monitoring of nitrous oxide/oxygen analgesia
Prerequisites:
DNTA 1260 or approval from the program director.
