Psychology, the scientific study of the mind and behavior, is a fascinating and exciting field. The A.A. with emphasis in Psychology at MCTC is flexible; it is designed specifically to help you complete the pre-major requirements needed to transfer and complete a degree in psychology at a four-year institution. In addition to saving money on your overall tuition by starting at MCTC, we believe when you earn an A.A. degree you will have a strong foundation for continuing your education towards advanced degrees.

All students pursuing this degree should work closely with their advisor to select the required Psychology courses, required MnTC courses for the 40-credit Minnesota Transfer Curriculum and their MnTC electives.

Students need to complete the entire 40-credit Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) as well as elective credits to reach 60 credits for the A.A. with an Emphasis in Psychology.

* MnTC Goal Area 3: Students must complete a minimum of two courses in two different disciplines, one course must have a traditional lab and the other course must have a traditional lab-or-lab-like experience from MnTC Goal Area 3.

**To complete the A.A. with an Emphasis in Psychology, students must complete at least three courses from three different disciplines in MnTC Goal Areas 5 and 6. By taking the recommended for emphasis courses, students will fulfill both of these Goal Areas.

*** By completing the recommended for emphasis courses, students will complete the necessary requirements for the A.A. with an Emphasis in Psychology and the entire Minnesota Transfer Curriculum.
