Description: This course teaches the proper utilization of Oxy/Acetylene equipment and introduces you to brazing and cutting with compressed gasses. You will learn equipment safety and safe welding practices. Plasma arc cutting safety and applications will also be covered. Must be taken A-F.

1. 1. Comprehend theory and applications of Oxy/Acetylene welding, brazing and torch cutting
2. 2. Understand specific safety requirements and potential hazards associated with the use of equipment
3. 3. Demonstrate proper brazing technique with Oxy/Acetylene torch in the flat, horizontal and vertical positions on various joint designs
4. 4. Complete layout and cutting of various projects using Oxy/Acetylene torch and Plasma Arc Cutting

Prerequisites: 

Placement score into READ 0200 or placement score into ESOL 0052 or completion of READ 0100 or ESOL 0042 with faculty recommendation into ESOL 0052.
