Description: This course covers basic blueprint reading related to welding and fabricating industrial products. You will interpret the information found on various types of drawings and become familiar with the welding symbols.

Topical Outline:
1. Orthographic projection, isometric and oblique drawings
2. Types of lines, dimensioning methods, views, title blocks, notes and specifications
3. Common structural shapes
4. America Welding Society (AWS) system of welding symbols

1. Read, understand and interpret various types of technical drawings
2. Understand notes, specifications and title blocks
3. Understand scale and tolerances
4. Interpret American Welding Society (AWS) welding symbols
5. Make simple technical drawings

Prerequisites:  Placement into ENGL 0900 or ESOL 0051 or completion of ESOL 0041
