Description:
This course will teach basic welding and cutting techniques for welding related trades such as HVAC, Electricians, and Machine Tool. You will learn about a variety of welding and cutting techniques.
Topical Outline:
1. Overview of general safety requirements for welding and use of equipment
2. Oxy/acetylene torch welding theory and technique
3. Oxy/acetylene torch cutting theory and technique
4. Shielded metal arc welding techniques (SMAW) theory and technique
5. Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) theory technique
6. Plasma arc cutting (PAC) theory and technique
Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand and practice general safety requirements for welding and use of equipment
2. Demonstrate basic technique of proper Oxy/Acetylene welding
3. Demonstrate basic technique of proper Oxy/Acetylene cutting
