Description:
The purpose of this course is to help future educators develop skills in the thoughtful integration of technology in order to support student learning. You will develop technological skills and explore many different tools for planning, instruction, communication and record keeping. You will develop an ongoing professional development plan to continue to meet the dynamic nature of technology. You will be expected to engage in substantive discussions on the "digital divide" as well as ethical and legal issues around technology and information sharing. You will demonstrate your competence using technology by developing an electronic, standards-based portfolio. Must be taken A-F.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Discuss the social, ethical, legal, and human issues surrounding the use of information and technology
2. Develop technology skills for use in planning, instruction, assessment and maintaining records that makes use of universal design
3. Develop strategies for communicating with families and communities that are appropriate for all different levels of technological access
4. Conduct observations in K12 classrooms to analyze the effectiveness of technology integration
5. Outline a plan for ongoing professional development to respond to the ever changing educational technological field
6. Develop and maintain an electronic portfolio based on the Standards for Effective Practice
