Description:
This course provides basic concepts regarding healthy lifestyles, and specific information about heart disease and stroke, diabetes, cancer, oral health, mental health, and maternal/child/teen health necessary for the Community Health Worker to foster holistic health practices and implement prescribed plans of care with clients. Must be taken A-F.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Describe components of Healthy Lifestyles and role of CHW when working with clients, families or community to promote Healthy Lifestyles
2. Describe basic disease processes for Heart Disease and Stroke and role of CHW when working with clients, families or community to support improving Health outcomes
3. Describe indicators of good mental and oral health and role of CHW when working with clients, families or community to promote good Mental and Oral Health
4. Describe basic disease processes for Cancer and Diabetes and role of CHW when working with clients, families or community to support improving Health outcomes
5. Describe basic components of growth and development throughout the cycle of Pregnancy, childhood and teens and the role of CHW when working with clients, families or community to support improving Health outcomes
