AutoCAD 1 (ARCH 1030)

Description: This course introduces you to the computer application of two-dimensional AutoCAD as applied to architectural drafting. Classes address basic and advanced drawing and editing commands used to produce and manipulate technical drawings within the AutoCAD environment.

Topical Outline:
1. Standard drawing and modifying commands
2. Creating texts styles, dimension styles & multileader styles
3. Using annotative scales to take advantage of sheet layouts and viewports
4. Creating standard & dynamic blocks
5. External referencing
6. Creating Title Blocks in preparation for plotting

Learning Outcomes:
1. Create a template with industry standard title blocks, layouts, viewports and annotations
2. Draft floor plans, sections and elevations with precision and efficiency
3. Create and insert door and window blocks
4. Dimension and annotate drawings using text, dimension and multi-leaders
5. Develop building elevations and sections using externally-referenced floor plans
6. Plot a set of drawings

Prerequisites:  Placement into READ 0200 or ESOL 0052 or completion of READ 0100 or ESOL 0042
