Architectural Technology Lab 1 (ARCH 1000)

Description: This course introduces you to the production of residential construction drawings. Principles of hand-sketching techniques will be used to assemble plan, elevation and section views. You will sketch and use computer drafting software to prepare sets of house plans for a variety of wood construction types.

Topical Outline:
1. Draw and troubleshoot residential plans, elevations, sections and details
2. Solve residential wood framing conditions
3. Detail architectural materials such as windows and flashing
4. Assemble residential construction documents
5. Demonstrate CAD skills necessary to develop architectural plans

Prerequisites:  Placement into ENGL 0900 or ESOL 0051 or completion of ESOL 0041
