Description:
This is a capstone course. You will complete a comprehensive practice to demonstrate the accounting knowledge and computer skills that you have learned in your accounting courses.
Topical Outline:
1. Accounting Cycle Process
2. Use of Microsoft Excel: Formulas, functions, formatting, Charts and templates
3. Ethical and equity issues in accounting
4. Financial statement preparation and analysis
Learning Outcomes:
1. Demonstrate comprehension of various financial accounting concepts and principles and the whole accounting cycle process
2. Apply and create selected Microsoft Excel concepts (i.e. formulas, functions, formatting, charts and templates, etc.)
3. Prepare accounting transactions such as journal entries, general ledgers, trial balances, bank reconciliation using Microsoft Excel
4. Critique and summarize ethical and equity issues in accounting
5. Prepare financial statements such income statement, balance sheet, retained earnings, and statement of cash flow using Microsoft Excel
