Description:
This course will examine trauma-informed care and will define the various types of trauma and practices used in treatment. You will learn the historical implications of trauma-informed care theory and practice. Emphasis will be placed on trauma-informed care assessment screening tools and secondary trauma self-care. Must be taken A-F

Learning Outcomes:
1. Explain and understand what “Trauma Informed Care” means.
2. Apply theoretical concepts and terminology related to the field of trauma.
3. Recognize the role and impact of secondary trauma as it relates to working with clients and how to apply boundaries and self/care strategies.
4. Understand historical methods of addressing trauma and identify current treatment modalities.
