Description:
This course uses a sociological perspective to examine the processes of rule-making and rule-breaking. It includes a survey of theories explaining deviance, and the application of these theories to a number of issues often defined as deviance: crime, juvenile delinquency and gangs, mental illness, and lifestyle variation, among others.
