Description:
This course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to properly inspect, check, service, and repair landing gear retraction systems, shocks, struts, brakes, wheels, tires and steering systems. This course also introduces you to the operations and purposes of position and warning systems. This course must be taken A-F.
Topical Outline:
1. Procedures for jacking an aircraft
2. Maintenance and repair of wheel and brake assemblies
3. Maintenance and repair of landing gear (fixed and retractable)
4. Maintenance and repair of landing gear systems and components
5. Inspections, troubleshooting and repair of landing gear position and warning systems
Learning Outcomes:
1. Jack an aircraft.
2. Remove, inspect and install aircraft landing gear.
3. Inspect, check, service, troubleshoot and repair an aircraft landing gear system and components.
4. Operate a retractable landing gear system.
