Description:
This course covers the principles of operation and maintenance of airframe and engine fire detection and protection systems. This course must be taken A-F.
Topical Outline:
1. Operating principle of engine and airframe fire detection systems
2. Operating principle of smoke and flame detectors in the cabin and cargo sections of the aircraft
3. Inspect, service and trouble shoot fire-extinguishing systems
Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand the different classes of fire and related fire extinguishing agents.
2. Inspect, service and maintain fire extinguishing bottles.
3. Inspect and troubleshoot electrical circuits of different fire/overheat detection systems.
