Description:
This course focuses on the nursing care of clients with complex variations in health. You will expand concepts previously introduced, evaluate and prioritize quality care practices and safe nursing care and judgement for patients, families, and promote the health of communities throughout the lifespan. You will practice provision of care of adults, elderly, and those with lived mental health experience. You will examine and prioritize evidence-based practice to support expanding knowledge of developmental factors, culturally congruent care, and legal aspects of care that promotes safe, outcomes-based care. Must be taken A-F.

1. Choose professional and therapeutic communication techniques to utilize with patients, families, and the community.
2. Critique teaching and learning principles for the purpose of patient and family health education with a multi-cultural approach.
3. Select elements of the nursing process for implementation of care with focus on utilizing clinical judgment and safe behaviors throughout the lifespan.
4. Appraise current practices of evidence-based care in the provision of multi-cultural nursing practice.
5. Support collaboration within the scope of the nursing discipline and the interprofessional team to help patients and families achieve health goals.
6. Differentiate various leadership skills and attitudes in the management of patient and family care.
