Description: This course introduces small business practices required for operating a successful freelance business. You will learn the topics which can be utilized to build a freelance business in graphic design, web design, photography, apparel design, freelance writing, videography, or any other creative endeavor. You will develop an informal business plan essential to any startup business. Topics include: sales strategies, practical business concepts, personal finances, business communications, taxes, insurance, and issues of copyright. You will research relevant social media and social networking and analyze it as a part of an overall marketing and self-promotion strategy.

Prerequisites:  Placement into READ 1300 or completion of READ 0200 or ESOL 0052 or Instructor Approval
