Description: The course focuses on the technology needed to assemble institutional projects. A variety of light-frame commercial systems will be examined, including steel framing, exterior finishing systems, interior walls and ceilings, and details. The course will analyze the assembly of projects assigned in ARCH 1200.

1. The drawing production process and the project team
2. Graphic communication using line weights and various drawing types
3. Building material options
4. Construction detailing and intersection of building materials
5. Building envelope systems
6. Specifics products such as windows and doors

Learning Outcomes:
1. Describe the drawing process and produce sets of architectural drawings (using computer software)
2. Implement a system of line weights and layering to organize and communicate information
3. Sketch details using appropriate materials and standard sizes
4. Research a product, explain its pros and cons and select between appropriate options
5. Draft a foundation connection, a cavity wall system , parapet section, window and door details
