Description:
This course is an introduction to the architectural profession. You will explore office practices, construction analysis, current architects and their work, as well as a review of architectural plans. You will also learn what to expect from a job with an architectural firm.

1. Office practices and overview of the design process
2. Architects who have influenced the industry
3. Analysis and criticism of architectural design
4. Development of creativity and problem-solving skills
5. Methods/types of construction
Learning Outcomes:
1. Describe the major roles and responsibilities in the architectural design process
2. Identify the typical types of drawings that make up a construction set
3. Identify several architects of note and describe their contributions
4. Design a small project using the industry standard design phases of schematic design, design development and production drawings
5. Create multiple solutions to a problem and evaluate those solutions
