Description: This course provides insight into the origin of leather and into its manufacturing process. You will gain practical experience in making a leather garment and finishing techniques in fur. Must be taken A-F.

3. Preparation of leather, suede, and fur
4. Leather yardage
5. Sewing machine adjustments
6. Specialty sewing techniques

Learning Outcomes:
1. Identify leather types and uses of skin and hides
2. Identify and use equipment and supplies
3. Prepare leather hides for cutting
4. Calculate leather yardage for garment
5. Prepare and adjust sewing machine
6. Perform specialty construction techniques

Prerequisites:  APRL 1400, APRL 2015, APRL 2350, and APRL 2750 or Instructor Approval
