Visual Basic.NET Programming (ITEC 2455)

Description: In this class you will learn to write Visual Basic code and create graphical user interfaces to build applications with a familiar Windows look and feel. You will design, create, document, test, and debug programs. You will become familiar with Visual Basic's libraries, and advanced language features. You will learn how to use the Visual Studio development environment and other software development tools. You will develop object oriented programming skills and build intermediate and larger scale applications. You may also create Visual Basic applications which interface with Microsoft SQL Server databases. Must be taken A-F.

1. Visual Basic user interfaces and components
2. Visual Basic code and application logic including data structures and object-oriented design
3. Visual Basic and SQLServer database integration
4. Program development lifecycle including analysis, design, coding, documentation testing and deployment
5. Visual Basic documentation, programmer help and resources
6. Visual Basic development environment and developer tools

Learning Outcomes:
1. Create Visual Basic code and application logic including using data structures and object oriented design
2. Create SQLServer databases and integrate these with Visual Basic applications
3. Design and create user interfaces for Visual Basic applications
4. Use the program development lifecycle including analysis, design, coding, documentation testing and deployment; to develop applications
5. Use Visual Basic documentation, be able to find and use programmer help and resources
6. Become proficient in using the Visual Studio development environment and supporting developer tools
