Internship Assessment and Preparation (HSER 2003)

Description: This course focuses on preparation for an internship in Human Services. You will participate in an evaluation of your readiness for an internship and selection an internship site for the next semester, with faculty guidance. You will examine your strengths and areas for improvement as a potential human service worker, develop goals and criteria for internship site selection, and interview at a variety of possible community sites. At the end of this course, you must choose and be accepted by an appropriate internship site approved by program faculty. You must earn at least a "C" (2.0) grade in this course in order to be eligible for internship the following semester. You will be required to complete a criminal background study through the Minnesota Department of Human Services. Acceptance into the course will also be based on previous course work including general education courses completed.

Prerequisites:  HSER 1004 and HSER 1105 passed with a grade of “C” (2.0) or above and Instructor Permission. Please contact the instructor before registration.
Co-requisites:  HSER 2001 and HSER 2002
