CNC Machine Setup and Operation (MTTC 2100)

Description: This course will consist of CNC programming, setup, operation for milling and lathe applications. You will create programs using proper tooling selections and machine setups. You will also identify processes that will machine the part/project efficiently while improving tool path and or setup.

Topical Outline:
1. CNC setup and operation
2. CNC programming
3. Proper tooling selections
4. Proper application of oil/coolant
5. Part production

Learning Outcomes:
1. Identify machine nomenclature and demonstrate safety practices
2. Develop CNC programs for part production
3. Organize tools and materials for part production
4. Create and produce parts to match blueprint specifications.
5. Inspect finished projects and compare to the blueprint specifications

Prerequisites:  MTTC 2005 and MTTC 2035
