Description:
This course will cover proper use of hand tools and lay-out procedures and will utilize saws vertical and horizontal to complete projects. You will learn drill press operations and executing functions, including drilling, tapping, countersinking, and counterboring. You will be introduced to proper grinding and sharpening of cutting tools. You will also be introduced to basic milling operations and projects.

1. Scribing/Lay-out procedures
2. Setup and Operation of saws, vertical/hydraulic horizontal
3. Calculations of speeds and feeds for proper application
4. Drill press operation
5. Cutting tool creation and sharpening
6. Setup and Operation of Vertical Mill

1. Demonstrate industry standard safety regulations and processes
2. Interpret machine nomenclature and selection of common tools in each area of content
3. Create and produce parts to match blueprint specifications
4. Inspect finished projects and compare to the blueprint specifications
