Description:
This course provides an in-depth study of the functioning of most body systems including the muscle, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary and endocrine systems. Dysfunctions may be included, but normal physiology will be stressed. The lecture/theory portion of this course is offered BOTH on campus in the classroom and as a Web course. This course includes two hours of required lab per week, which must be taken on campus.

2. Messaging (Endocrine and Nervous Systems)
3. Movement (Muscles)
4. Distribution Systems (Cardiovascular and Respiratory Systems)
5. Nutrient and Waste Processing Systems (Digestive and Urinary Systems)
Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand the major physiological processes in the human body
2. Demonstrate the ability to describe the normal and abnormal relationships, interactions, and functions of the human body
3. Understand the homeostatic mechanisms that regulate and maintain the major functions of the human body
4. Acquire skills of observation, analysis and synthesis through problem solving work in lecture and lab
