Aerobic Workout (PHED 1156)

Description: This course is a progression from introductory to advanced aerobic activities to improve cardiorespiratory fitness. You will participate in a variety of low- and high-impact interval and endurance activities and assess your level of physical fitness. Must be taken A-F.

Topical Outline:
1. Physiological benefits of fitness and the role it plays in the Wellness concept
2. Safety and Technique
3. Participation in a variety of aerobic training activities
4. Equipment and other supports to create to aid the enjoyment of physical activity

Learning Outcomes:
1. Develop an understanding and an appreciation of Wellness and the role cardiovascular fitness plays
2. Participate in a variety of cardiovascular fitness activites
3. Demonstrate the proper approaches to safely participate in aerobic exercise at various intensity levels
4. Examine community resources to aid in the development of aerobic activity as a lifetime pursuit
