Description:
In this course, you will develop a knowledge of the Minnesota statutes relating to juveniles. You will explore the history and philosophies of the juvenile system, including theories related to causation and the effects of delinquency, as well as learn strategies for working with juveniles in the prevention of delinquency.

3. The family, schools, the police, gangs and juvenile delinquency
4. Juvenile law, courts, and corrections
Learning Outcomes:
1. Define juvenile delinquency and identify the methods used to measure the scope of juvenile delinquency
2. Discuss the theoretical foundations of delinquency and the biological, psychological, sociological, critical life course, and integrated theories of juvenile delinquency
3. Discuss the relationships of family, schools, police, and gangs with juvenile delinquency
4. Identify and discuss the key components of the juvenile system; law, courts, and corrections
